"Labyrinths," presented by Chanticleer Choral Arts Initiative Concert
The GRAMMY Award-winning vocal ensemble Chanticleer has been hailed as “the world’s reigning male chorus” by The New Yorker, and is known around the world as “an orchestra of voices” for its wide-ranging repertoire and dazzling virtuosity.
About their Music Guild program, Tim Keeler writes, “Labyrinths twist and turn. They wind and wend, meander and mosey. Exploring a labyrinth can be scary, but it can also be meditative and even healing.”
Chanticleer’s Music Guild concert encompasses more than five centuries of music, from motets by Josquin des Prez to contemporary classics by Caroline Shaw. Along the way, Chanticleer will offer music by Stephen Paulus and Christoper Harris, and arrangements of songs by Joni Mitchell and Harold Arlen. As is their trademark, the concert will also include traditional spirituals and folksongs.”
Tickets purchased online are held at Will Call beginning at 7pm on the night of the concert
“Liner Notes with Tom Neenan” takes place at 7:10 in the church before each concert (except October)
