COMMISSIONS AND REPERTOIRE

For more than 25 years the Music Guild has been a leader in commissioning and premiering new musical works, primarily from young Los Angeles composers.

In 2010, with support from the Los Angeles Arts Commission, the Music Guild commissioned Alan Chan's "Rock - Paper - Scissors" which was given its world premiere in June 2011.

In 2011, again with support from the Los Angeles County Arts Commission, the Music Guild commissioned a new work for vocal octet and chamber orchestra from Christopher Tin, to be premiered in June 2012.

In 2011, with support from the MacTon Foundation, the Music Guild commissioned a new work, "O! Solitude," from Ola Gjeilo. "O! Solitude" will be premiered at the Music Guild's March 23, 2012 concert.

In 2001 the Music Guild Commissioned several new works to celebrate it's twenty-fifth anniversary year. These included:
