This program marks the return of two favorite artists to St. Matthew’s Music Guild. The Chamber Orchestra opens the program with music by Florence Price and premieres the latest commissioned work by composer Ethan Helm, whose Dream Walk Through Istanbul met with great acclaim in 2022. Violinist Hye-Jin Kim makes her long-anticipated return, performing Giancarlo Menotti’s deeply lyrical Violin Concerto. The Strad magazine champions Ms. Kim’s playing as “heart-stopping” and “supremely musical,” making her the ideal presenter of Menotti’s operatically inspired work.
